As a solo performer, educator and recording artist, Deanna Swoboda performs
around the world, uniting people of all ages through music.
Ms. Swoboda earned degrees in Tuba Performance from Northwestern University
and the University of Idaho.
As a video artist for Silver Burdette-Ginn and a tuba artist for Accent
Musical Instruments,
Deanna shares her talents in schools across the country, performing "Band
Blast Off"
and motivational workshops for music students and young children.
As a Summit recording artist, Ms. Swoboda's solo children's CD entitled "Deanna's
Wonderland" is available through Summit Records.
"Band Blast Off" Assembly Program
Band Blast Off is a multimedia, educational music program that combines
music with elements of science, history and humor to promote curiosity and the
excitement of participating in the school music program. During Band Blast Off
your students will explore scientific discoveries of sound and travel through
time visiting distant lands and historical places while discovering related
instruments along the way. Volunteers are then selected to play the instruments,
forming the school's first quintet! The program is interspersed with dynamic
tuba playing and the Band Blast Off rap!
This program is appropriate for pre-elementary students through sixth grade.
Band Blast Off has been presented at over 2000 schools across the country and
abroad.
Solo Performances
Orchestra - Ms. Swoboda will perform solo with your orchestra.
Whether a concert series or a children's program, Ms. Swoboda has music
selections appropriate for the occasion.
Band - Ms. Swoboda will perform solo with your Community or High
School Band.
Guest Concert - Ms. Swoboda will perform a solo concert at your
University or Community College presenting a selection of music for everyone to
enjoy.
Clinics and Workshops
In the Bandroom - Ms. Swoboda combines elements of virtuoso tuba playing,
Band Blast Off and motivational practice tips for your students. This is
available for Middle School and High School band students.
Teacher Workshops - This is designed especially for your classroom
teachers. The workshop will focus on community building and leadership
skills through rhythm and groove. Sessions are one hour (longer upon
request).
