Mary Flagler Cary Charitable Trust
The Trust’s Music grant program is restricted to music
institutions based in the five boroughs of New York City. The Trust
supports professional performance institutions that add to the vitality and
diversity of New York City’s musical life. Performance grants help support the
concert seasons of small and mid-sized professional orchestras, opera companies,
choral groups, and contemporary music ensembles and presenters. The Trust is
committed to assisting those institutions that provide performance opportunities
for talented musicians pursuing careers in New York City, that perform
adventurous repertoire, and that serve audiences outside the well-established
music institutions.
The Mr. Holland's Opus
Foundation
THE MR. HOLLAND’S OPUS FOUNDATION (MHOF) supports music education
and its many benefits through the donation and repair of musical instruments to
under-served schools, community music programs and individual students
nationwide. MHOF was inspired by the acclaimed motion picture Mr.
Holland’s Opus, the story of the profound effect a dedicated music teacher had
on generations of students. The film's composer, Michael Kamen, founded MHOF in
1996 as his commitment to the future of music education.
